Philosophy of
Counseling
The counseling provided by the
East Hill Church of Christ is a ministry.
The goal is to assist members of our congregation
and the community in healthy living. |
What to Expect
During the first session, a
registration form is completed as well as an initial
assessment. This
information is reviewed with you and a treatment plan is
developed which takes into account the nature and severity
of the problem, the skills needed, and the resources
available to you.
The counseling provided in
this office is protected by the rules of confidentiality
and privacy. With
your written permission, relevant information may be
shared with other professionals, as part of your treatment
and continuity of care. |
Experience
has shown the following helpful in making the most
of your time in therapy:
- Willingness on
your part to work hard and look at yourself in
new ways.
- Precise guidance
and direction from a skilled professional.
- Time to
understand and learn new approaches
- Opportunity to
exercise and test these new skills
- Feedback –
honest and direct – on what you are doing
and how it is working for you. (Kroeker,
2000).
