New Elders

We are pleased to be welcoming three new elders today.

Dr. Michael Case is a professor of Bible at York College and has been teaching in that capacity since 1992. He also preached at the Seward Church of Christ for a number of years and served as an elder there. He and his wife MaryAnn have been married 43 years and involved with the work at East Hill for 28 years. They have four children: Matt, John, Luke, and Angela, and three grandchildren… hopefully four by the time you read this in the bulletin. J A favorite verse for Mike is Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

Matt Coppinger serves as the associate head YC soccer coach for the women’s team and has been a deacon at East Hill for more than a decade. He and Laura have been married 26 years, and members at East Hill for 18 years. They have been blessed with six children and currently three foster children: Asa, Justus, Elias, Malachi, Brayden, Keith, Keinan, Kylie and will soon add another girl – Zakiya. Matt has been encouraged this past year by the pursuit of God in Psalm 23:6 (NLT): “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life. And I will live in the house of the LORD forever.”

Eric Tremaine recently celebrated his 25th year at York College, working with building and grounds. He’s a licensed electrician which also comes in handy with his work as a deacon at East Hill. He and Jenny have been married for 20 years and have attended East Hill for 16 years together, and Eric can add 12 more years to that before they were married. They have six children: Julie, Simeon, Emma, Josiah, Nathaniel, and Samuel. Eric’s been drawn to Psalm 1:1-3 and the amazing picture it paints of being grounded in the Word of God. “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”
